Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ShipRules AI ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), a Shopify application that provides AI-powered shipping rule management. By installing or using ShipRules AI, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service description
ShipRules AI is a Shopify embedded application that allows merchants to create, manage, and automate shipping rate rules. The App provides:
- Shipping zone and method configuration
- Rule-based rate calculation via Shopify's Carrier Service API
- AI-powered rule generation from natural language prompts
- Version control, shadow mode, and configuration management
- REST API and MCP server for programmatic access
2. Account and installation
To use ShipRules AI, you must have an active Shopify store and install the App through the Shopify App Store or a direct install link. By installing, you authorize ShipRules AI to access your store data as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account and any API keys generated within ShipRules AI.
3. Pricing and billing
ShipRules AI offers three subscription tiers: Starter ($29/month), Pro ($79/month), and Enterprise ($199/month). All plans are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system.
- New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full Enterprise features
- No credit card is required to start the free trial
- You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time — changes take effect immediately and are prorated
- There are no per-order fees, setup fees, or hidden charges
- Cancellation can be done at any time by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin
4. Plan limits
Each plan includes specific limits on shipping methods, product groups, AI prompts, API keys, and other features as described on our Pricing page. When you reach a limit:
- Your existing configuration continues to work without interruption
- You cannot create new items beyond your plan limit until you upgrade or remove existing items
- If you downgrade, items exceeding the new plan's limits are disabled but preserved — they reactivate automatically if you upgrade again
5. Shipping rate accuracy
ShipRules AI calculates shipping rates based on the rules and conditions you configure. We provide the tools — you are responsible for ensuring your shipping rules produce accurate rates for your store.
- We recommend using the rate simulation feature to test rules before enabling them
- Shadow mode allows you to compare proposed changes against live traffic before promoting
- We are not liable for shipping rate errors resulting from misconfigured rules, incorrect product data, or conditions that do not match your intended business logic
6. Service availability
We strive to maintain high availability for the rate calculation service, as it directly affects your store's checkout experience. However:
- We do not guarantee 100% uptime
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible
- If our rate service is unavailable, Shopify will fall back to your store's built-in shipping rates
- We are not liable for lost sales, refunds, or business impact resulting from service interruptions
7. Data ownership
You retain full ownership of your shipping configuration, rules, and all data you create within ShipRules AI. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your configuration.
Pro and Enterprise plans include configuration export, allowing you to download your complete setup in JSON format at any time.
8. API and automation use
Pro and Enterprise plans include REST API access and/or MCP server access for programmatic rule management. When using these features:
- You are responsible for securing your API keys
- API requests are subject to rate limits (100 requests per minute per key)
- Automated actions (creating, updating, or deleting rules) are logged and versioned the same as manual actions
- We reserve the right to suspend API access if usage patterns indicate abuse or pose a risk to service stability
9. Prohibited use
You may not use ShipRules AI to:
- Deliberately calculate inaccurate shipping rates to deceive customers
- Circumvent Shopify's terms of service or marketplace policies
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Resell or sublicense access to ShipRules AI or its API
- Use the AI prompt feature to generate content unrelated to shipping rule management
10. Termination
You may terminate your use of ShipRules AI at any time by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin. Upon uninstallation:
- Your subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing period
- All your data is permanently deleted within 48 hours (as described in our Privacy Policy)
- This deletion is irreversible
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShipRules AI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost sales, or business interruption, arising from your use of the App.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of ShipRules AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
For material changes that affect your rights, we will provide notice through the App or via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
